PROVABLY FAIR
- Before a round opens, the site generates a long random number and publishes its fingerprint: a SHA-256 hash of that number. One-way, it cannot be turned back into the number it came from.
- A second public value and the round's own number are published beside it, so no result is ever drawn from a single number.
- When the round settles the site reveals the original number next to the result. Hashing it has to reproduce the fingerprint you saw before betting - if it does, the number was never swapped after you committed.
- The winner is worked out from those published values using HMAC-SHA256, a standard keyed hashing function. Its output is read in small chunks in order, and the first chunk that lands inside the range this game needs decides the winner; the chunks that miss are ignored. Since every input was on display beforehand, each outcome is exactly as likely as any other.
- Paste the revealed values into the checker below and reproduce the round yourself. Change a single character and the result changes with it.
